St. Joseph Seventh-day Adventist Church
Sermon was a special mission report. Ed Brennan, today’s preacher at St. Joseph Church had a Brennan Family Project presentation of AWA-Philippines. They worked with Adventist Frontier Missions. They met Kent and Leonda who worked for 13 years. The story was written April 2008 AFM Magazine. Getting the mission place was a blast! The people were very afraid of the gods who gave them fears. Many people were suffering to keep the harmony with the spirit. If they don’t do that they will be killed. If you leave the place you will have bad experience. Before, people were killed, but after our team worked there, no death had happened, so they liked the mission team. They have education for many people and then helped health and then they could open the church. They saw that God was working there with them on a daily bases. People lived in grass houses.

Ed said that his life has changed while they work there. He became Christian in 2001. He got in Mexico mission trip and now in the Philippines. He talked on the porch. The people there need a clinic, a school, and a church because they cannot go next village due to the language difference. Those places are a lot of forest village. They cover all the Philippines and Malaysia. Other ministries supported; Philippines Frontiers missions, North Philippine Union Mission, Gospel Outreach, Laymen’s Ministries, Palawan Missions and Pastor Andoy, Palawan Adventist Hospital, 1000 Missionary Movement run by Dr. Joo. Why are we here? AWA is in the Philippines because of the following reasons: Provide transportation, Logistical coordination for the missionaries, Provide medical evacuation, provide Humanitarian work etc, So Ed appealed to sign up for their newsletter-contact information-prayers we need-Satan want no work without prayer anything can get it.

After presentation, Dr. Ken Yoo gave the flyers to the first church elder who may inform to the pastor who is preaching at another church today.
Dr. Ken Yoo also met Dr. & Mrs. John Matthews and their daughter and a grand-daughter. He was dean at Newbold College where Dr. Ken Yoo obtained his BA and MA, in 1983-1984.
